Every year it takes tens of thousands of dollars to build our race car and take it to competition. These costs include raw materials, tools, services, registration fees, and travel. The funds raised from this campaign will be used to offset these costs, allowing our members to focus on engineering the best car possible to represent OU.
About Sooner Racing
Formula SAE is a design competition made possible by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) that allows students to design, manufacture, and race a small formula style racecar. Much like its larger cousin, Formula 1, the FSAE competition has rules and regulations that challenge the students to innovate and tackle challenges with creative solutions. Today, there are over 450 universities worldwide at 9 competitions across the globe. The Sooner Racing Team teaches its members how to use engineering first principles to solve complex real-world problems with industry leading software. This makes SRT alumni highly sought-after candidates for a variety of engineering roles.
